About

I arrive at my images through the process of monoprinting. I see an implied shape created by the repeated passes through the press and pull that form forward so that each print has its own spontaneous vitality. The shapes are organic, worn, sharp, and blunt creating imagined worlds. The many passes through the press form an atmospheric and varied veil of color similar to water or thick air. This way of working allows me to generate new images and shapes that also remain connected through mark and the stenciling materials. I use found objects from the street such as plastics, wrappers, and string to build forms and create a sometimes frenetic urban quality.
